The marina of Empuriabrava was built in 1967.
Its originality is due to the structure of its town planning, which develops around an ear network of navigable channels of which the total length is greater than 35 kilometers. Empuriabrava is original by the diversity of its dwellings.
The majority have a garden, a garage and an access deprived to the channels, so that the owners can moor their boat with the door of their house.
The Marina d'Empuriabrava is the largest residential marina of Europe, reaching in summer the 100.000 residents and always combining activity and entertainment with calms that you wish to find there.Several commercial zones are in the vicinity immediate.
Empuriabrava is crossed by a large avenue which carries out towards the sea front and the harbor zone, or one finds also shops and stores and in the center of which the original architecture of the Nautique club is, whose air tower dominates the whole.
Always on this avenue, one will find the principal zone of Empuriabrava devoted to the night leisures (bar musical, terraces, discotheques, etc).

the airport of Empuriabrava accommodates the Center of Parachuting of Costa Brava, regarded as one of most important of the world.
One finds there also a flying school, having of small planes and ULM with which it is possible to carry out air excursions in all the area.

Cadaqués - Lligat Port or is the house of El Salvador Dali
In the center of the Natural reserve, with 12 miles by the sea, the Bay and the village of Cadaqués are, place of inspiration of the universal painter El Salvador Dali and of many other artists. It is a very beautiful excursion to be made in boat of Ampuriabrava, one day of sun.
Natural reserve of Cape de Creus
It is with 4 miles of Ampuriabrava only, on the peninsula of the "Cape de Creus" which you will find most spectacular the site: a projection of 10 km. in the sea, forming an extremely marked littoral, high cliffs, small islands and reefs eroded and beaten by the winds, superb landscapes with the small splits from which transparent water is accessible only by the sea. The vines and the olive-trees climb along the mountainous sides, through terrace and small holdings supported by dry stone walls. The coastal refuges shelter small fleets of fishing. For 3 years, this place has been declared the Natural reserve, largest of Europe currently.
Médes islands
With 12 miles only, the small archipelago of the Médes Islands (of a surface of 21,5 ha), made of seven small islands and some reefs, located at less one thousand of the coasts of the solid mass ampurdanais of Montgri - of which it forms part geologically - is a place of an extraordinary biological and ecological value by the variety of the species and the mediums which it contains, whose scientific interest is undeniable; it is also a place of a great beauty, single in Catalonia.
Cala Montjoi
With 4 miles in boat, superb recess which shelters the restaurant "El Bulli".
Three stars on the Michelin Guide, National Price of the Spanish Academy of Gastronomy, the kitchen of the "Bulli" created a certain gastronomical culture and, during their 10 years of common work, the "chiefs" Ferran Adrià and Juli Soler, knew to make one day spent in beautiful Cala Montjoi an authentic day of dream.
Ruins of Ampurias : They are with 7 miles of Ampuriabrava; one can go there by ground or by sea and it is a pleasant excursion to visit the place with Greek civilization unloaded in the Iberian peninsula, there is more than 2500 years. Ampurias became then a Roman city and was definitively abandoned during second half of IIIe century after J.C.
Its scientific discovery goes back to 1908 and since then, the excavations updated 25% of the layer.
